Oak Hart CSA Information
Why CSA?
Even when there is still snow on the ground (and no customers in the market), we are planning, planting, and preparing for the harvests ahead.Β CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) programs were developed to allow communities to invest in future crops BEFORE the harvests, guaranteeing that farmers could afford to plant food and members were given a share of the bounty.Β At Oak Hart, we have adopted a slightly different CSA model that fits our market customers.
Here’s How It Works:
π Members choose an initial share size in $100 increments ($500.00 – $1,000.00 or greater), based on how much food they expect to purchase in the coming year
π The share is pre-paid, allowing the farmer to use those funds NOW to prepare a harvest
π Shareholder Card is issued when payment is received (or simply refilled if you are a returning member)
π Shareholder card can be used to purchase anything in the market throughout the season, not just produce!
π Members have a year from payment to use their card balance
πBecause seeding, planting and purchasing happens year-round, we accept new members any time (space allowing)
MEMBER BENEFITS:
πΒ Receive 10% off all produce, flowers and plants each time you use the card
π Members are offered first opportunity to food preservation quantities and surplus
π Flexibility to use the card at the Market for a year from purchase
π Reload your card at anytime throughout the season to continue receiving benefits, no minimum refill amount required
π Special Member only sales/specials
