After much thought and many heartfelt discussions, we have made the difficult decision to close Oak Hart Farm for the remainder of our 20th season.
Many of you have become more than customers—you’ve become friends—and we wanted to share a little more about why we’ve made this decision. Shawna will soon be undergoing two total knee replacement surgeries, back to back, followed by a lengthy recovery. At the same time, while Woody is doing well following his recent heart procedure, we continue to monitor his recovery and want to ensure he remains on a healthy path.
This is not a decision we ever imagined making, nor one that comes easily. However, after weighing every option, we know it is the right choice for our family at this time.
As we step away, our hearts are filled with gratitude. Throughout these past 20 seasons, you have allowed us to be part of your lives and your tables. Together we’ve shared CSA seasons, farm camps, cooking classes, farm-to-table dinners, educational programs, community gatherings, and countless conversations across the farm. We’ve celebrated harvests, watched children grow, welcomed new friends, and experienced the simple joy of gathering around good food and the land we love. Those memories—and the relationships we’ve built—are the true harvest of Oak Hart Farm.
We are incredibly thankful for your loyalty, encouragement, and friendship. Your support has sustained us through both the joys and the challenges of farming, and we will never take that for granted.
While we don’t know exactly what the future holds for Oak Hart Farm, we do know this: we love this community deeply. Our hope is that, with time and healing, we’ll be able to welcome you back to Oak Hart Farm in some capacity next season. Until then, we ask for your understanding, your patience, and your continued support during this season of recovery and renewal.
